It always shocks me when I hear someone complaining. Not necessarily about something that is actually a big deal and they might need to vent, but something along the lines of complaining about how they hate work, going to practice, or, my personal favorite, that their lives are so terrible because some little, unimportant thing happened.
It always makes me think, really?
There are so many people that don't have jobs and have been looking for one for a long time. Why are you complaining that you have to work? You don't like your job? You have one, and it will help you pay for college or the things you want to do with friends.
You don't like going to practice? It's too difficult or takes up too much time? You have the opportunity to do that sport, and that is amazing! And all of the training that you do in practice makes you better at your sport. Isn't improving what you want to do?
And your life isn't terrible, no matter what little event makes you upset for a day or two! There are people who will always have things worse than you do. You have opportunities that so many others don't! You get to go to school, which is incredible. You get to learn new things every single day, and other kids around the world don't have that chance. You have people who care about you, and will help you through anything.
Isn't that what we all want?
I just find it crazy that people don't realize that we are so lucky.
If you ever see me in the morning, I always say "It's gonna be a good day!"
And I say it for a reason. When you believe it's going to be a good day, it usually ends up being a good day. So much of what happens to us starts in our head. If you think that you're going to have a bad day at work, you probably will. It just kind of happens that way.
What I'm trying to say is, be an optimist, not a pessimist! Go into every day like it's Friday, have a positive attitude, be kind to everyone.
And as a final note, just live your life to the fullest. You never know what tomorrow is going to bring, so why not make today your best day ever?
