This last week in pre calc was actually kind of fun. The test we took wasn't anywhere near as hard as I thought it was going to be. I'm pretty sure I even got the hard challenge problem that required you to find the right equation for extra credit. In the new unit I liked how Mr. Jackson started the class all narrowed in by giving us the factored form and showing us how to find the shape of the graph and then slowly broadening it out until he was talking to us about starting with a quadratic equation and factoring it then creating the graph. The hard part is just doing the factoring itself because I find it difficult to determine what factors of A go in front of which X numbers and what factors of the C value will add up to make the B value all while still taking into account that the A will affect the B value. I also liked how he gave us a lot more time in class to work on the pages and talk to each other on how we got our answers and be able to fix our own mistakes instead of just having to skip the question like we would have if it was homework. It was especially interesting when we had to create the graph on our own the first time because it was kind of challenging and it got my entire group talking about how they think it should go.
