B.O.B. Week 6

At the beginning of this week I was, like last week, doing pretty good. When we got to factoring by grouping the other day, it took a little bit, going through a couple examples, but then I got it. It doesn't seem that hard to me; I only struggle with figuring out if I still have to reduce something (when there's still a perfect square left).

Then Jackson told us to watch a video on polynomial long devision for homework, and I sort of freaked out about it. I thought it was going to be impossible; it sounds like it must be impossible. I watched the Khan Academy video and the guy did a good job of explaining it. I actually understood- it I didn't seem that hard! In class, too, I sort of got it. I struggle with making sure I subtract correctly (it seems simple, but it's actually really easy to mess up). I also sometimes struggle when there ends up being no remainder- having all those zeroes in the problem confuses me for some reason. The big problem I have is when I get to the end, and I have to find the zeroes. I was working on the homework last night and I just could not factor the cubic to get the zeroes. For some reason my brain decided to shut off and not let me figure out what to do. Guess I'll figure that out today.
